Phil Anselmo Apologises For Racist Comments
Phil Anselmo, singer of 90s metal band Pantera, has issued an apology via video, following his racist slurs at 2016’s Dimebash on January 22nd at Lucky Strike Live, Hollywood.
Anselmo was originally caught on video giving a Nazi salute and shouting “white power”. After the video first emerged, Anselmo insisted he was joking, as stated by Loudwire.
Following this, he then posted a video of him apologising for his actions. In the video he says: “Philip H. Anselmo here, and I’m here to basically respond to all the heat I’ve been getting that I deserve completely.”
The singer continues: “I was at the Dimebash, and it was extremely late at night. There was heavy-duty talk between myself and those who love Dime. Heavy emotions were flowing, jokes were made backstage that transpired upon the stage, and it was ugly. It was uncalled for.”
